Advisory Added - French River Beach
A Water Contact Not Recommended advisory has been issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) on 9/18/2009 for French River Beach. Elevated E. coli bacteria levels identified from samples collected 9/17/2009 indicate the possible presence of fecal contamination. The beach is scheduled to be re-sampled 9/21/2009.
French River Beach is located north of Duluth on Old North Shore Road (Scenic Highway 61), at the mouth of French River.
Advisory Added - Park Point 20th Street / Hearding Island Canal Beach
A Water Contact Not Recommended advisory has been issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) on 9/18/2009 for Park Point 20th Street-Hearding Island Canal Beach. Elevated E. coli bacteria levels identified from samples collected 9/17/2009 indicate the possible presence of fecal contamination. The beach is scheduled to be re-sampled 9/21/2009.
Park Point 20th Street / Hearding Island Canal Beach is located on the harbor-side of Park Point, at 20th Street.
Advisory Removed - Burlington Bay Beach
The Water Contact Not Recommended-advisory placed at Burlington Bay Beach on 9/17/2009 has been removed. Fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels.
Burlington Bay Beach is located in Two Harbors.
